We are looking for talented enthusiastic team members to join our team at the only upscale boutique hotel in the heart of downtown Sioux Falls!

We are searching for a Barista to prepare and serve hot and cold beverages with food. The perfect candidate would be a self-starter that can work independently and have the imagination needed to create an atmosphere people love. Barista responsibilities include educating customers on our drinks menu, making recommendations based on their preferences, up-selling special items, serving food items, and taking orders. To be successful in this role, you should have customer service skills and knowledge of how brewing equipment operates. Ultimately, you’ll ensure an excellent experience for our guests.

Note: this position’s compensation includes hourly wage and tips.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers as they enter
• Answer customer questions regarding ingredients
• Take orders while paying attention to details (e.g. preferences of coffee blend, dairy and sugar ratios)
• Serve beverages and food, such as pastries,
• Receive and process payments (cash, credit card, and charge-to-room)
• Keep the bar area clean
• Check if brewing equipment operates properly and report any maintenance needs
• Communicate customer feedback to managers and recommend new menu items

Skills

• Previous work experience as a Barista
• Hands-on experience with brewing equipment
• Ability to describe and sell food and drinks
• Excellent communication skills
